Last weekend, Victorian Ben Nunan powered to an impressive tournament victory in the AUD$10,000 Geelong Open, perhaps the toughest 8-Ball tournament on the Australian Calendar with 250 entrants.

Ben Nunan, the Victorian Champion powered through the final rounds with impressive defeats of Johl Younger (2002 Winner, Professional Snooker and 9-Ball player) 5-2 in the semi-final and a 6-0 whitewash of South Australian star Colin Loutaris in the final. Colin was almost without chances in the final after he had shown a magic touch winning 5-0 in his semi-final against rising star from Ballarat Mark Gottlieb.

Some of the world's leading English style 8-ballers including Alec Evrenaides and Mark Williams were taking part but couldn't get past the last 16 in this quality field of players.

Velo Dulic, the tournament organizer was delighted with the quality and size of the field in this fourth year of the event. Velo stated after the event " The quality of play was world class, but we would have liked to see local champions Marcus "Coyote" Harrison and Rick "Pythagoras" Coleman bring the title home for the locals".
