IPA Heads to Gatwick Hilton in London

The World of cue sports is eagerly awaiting the next round of the IPA (International Professional Pool Player Association) tour over the weekend of 14th-16th September when they visit the Gatwick Hilton for the European Open.

This new venue with excellent transport links (30 minutes from London on the Gatwick Express), has been chosen to accommodate the majority of the World’s best exponents of 8 ball pool in a 16 table arena that will show off their skills and competiveness in front of both a live audience (with free entry for all three days), as well as the livestream provided via the IPA website (www.ipapooltour.com), to be watched by fans around the globe.

Players such as previous World Champions Adam Davis, Phil Harrison, Gareth Potts, Jason Twist, Carl Morris, and Mick Hill are all expected to challenge for the £10,000 in prize money, as well as the best amateurs on the circuit today including shining star Giuseppe D’Imperio and recent tour winner Simon Ward (pictured) looking for back to back victories in the amateur event. TEN newcomers to the amateur stage will be experiencing their first taste of top level action here, including father and son duo Perry and Josh Durant who have (amazingly) been drawn to face each other in the first round, while everyone in the amateur contest will be looking for their ticket on to the pro tour next season, adding to the kudos of winning such a high profile event.

Add an active Facebook page which will be updated during the tournament (IPA (International Professional Pool Players Association)), all fans should be well catered for, and if you turn up on the day you can meet the stars in person, have a chat, pose for pictures, get autographs and so on.

With 8 ball pool growing on a daily basis around the World, new sponsors are being attracted to the sport at the highest level including Hilton, Aramith balls, DPT Tables, Finicky Shirts, Strachan cloth, Writesports.com, Sir Ivor Racing, and others as we reach out to larger audiences year on year, moving one of the most popular participant sports there is on to a new level where the committee and the players all believe it belongs, as do our many fans and sports journalists around the globe.
