Billiard Congress of America Launches Official Rules Mobile Application

Broomfield, Colo., October 19, 2012 - The Billiard Congress of America announced today the launch of the official billiard rules mobile application on both iPhone and Android platforms for the World-Standardized Rules of Pocket Billiards (8-Ball, 9-Ball, 10-Ball, 14.1 Continuous Pool, Black Ball, and more). The Official Billiard Rules App also will offer "Table Specifications," "Instructions for Referees," and an interactive "Ask the Referee" section.

Full versions of the BCA's Official Billiard Rules App can be downloaded in the iTunes and Google Play stores for $2.99, with a free supplemental lite version offering 8-Ball and general rules information.

The Official Billiard Rules App is designed for players and enthusiasts who want instant access to the World-Standardized Rules, Regulations and Table Specifications.  Featuring easy to use navigation, players can quickly answer questions and solve disputes about every official rule and regulation.

"It is only fitting that the Billiard Congress of America, who has a long history of publishing the official rules of billiards and pool, is now offering a mobile application platform that offers consumers the same information wherever and whenever a billiard player needs it," said Rob Johnson, Chief Executive Officer of the Billiard Congress of America. "With this application, and its ease of use navigation, players will have instantaneous answers to rules questions and other valuable information.

The App allows users the opportunity to email the Billiard Congress of America directly from the application with a rules question.  This mobile application also gives players a new way to seek answers from certified BCA and World-Standardized referees.

In an effort to standardize the sport and further assist the North American professional pool players, the Billiard Congress of America will donate 50% of proceeds from the purchase of the mobile application to a North American professional pool player travel fund.  The fund's total will be reviewable at http://tinyurl.com/BCAProPlayerTravelFund.

The mobile application is powered by the Professional Billiard Instructors Association (PBIA).  The PBIA is the largest recognized international body of billiard instructors, and is dedicated to growing cue sports through quality billiard instruction to individuals at all levels of proficiency to ensure that pool-playing students have a positive playing experience.   For more information about the PBIA visit www.PlayBetterBilliards.com.
