Frost Earns #12 The Hard Way at DCT Stop

The game was bar-table 10-ball on October 21st and 22nd when the Desert Classic Tour visited Stingers in Phoenix; and a field of thirty nine of the best players in Arizona were ready to fight it out for the win.

Scott Frost put his eleven tournament winning streak on the line in this one, and “The Mailman” Chuck Evans quickly showed Frost how he felt about the winning streak, as Evans defeated Frost in the first round and sent The Freezer to the one loss side.

Evans would ride the winners side until the final four on Sunday, when he dropped an 8-2 decision to Nick “Nikon” DeLeon.

The other final four match saw Mitch Ellerman send Larry Olsen west by the score of 10-1.

On the one loss side, Tres Kane eliminated Pete Lhotka 8-2 and Frost continued his comeback tour with a 10-5 win over Tucson’s Chris Paradowski.

Next up on the one loss side, Kane lost to Chuck Evans 8-2 and Frost beat Olsen 10-5.

Scott then got his revenge against The Mailman by the score of 10-4.

Back on the winners side, was the battle of the Valley’s young guns and DeLeon proved to be the bigger gun with an 8-2 win over Ellerman.

Ellerman then went to the left side of the board to face Frost. That match was a close one, with Scott earning the 10-9 win for a place in the true double elimination finals against Deleon.

Many a player has learned the lesson of how hard it is to beat Scott Frost when you let him get close to the finish line. DeLeon would learn this lesson this time as Frost won the first set of the finals 10-3.

DeLeon would get no chance to regroup for the second set as Frost turned up the heat. Freezer broke and ran seven racks to take complete control of the match and went on to score a 10-1 win and notch his twelfth straight tournament win.

With the win, Frost jumped from 5th to 2nd on the DCT points list, with two events remaining to be played.

The next stop on the Desert Classic Tour will be November 17th and 18th at Bullshooters in Phoenix. The game will be bartable 9-ball. The DCT has also announced that their season finale will be December 8th - 9th at Stingers in Phoenix.
