Hawaiian Brian’s Open 9-Ball Tournament a Huge Success

David Antennorcruz, Glen 'Aku' Sailola and Hawaiian Brian

The Open 9-Ball tournament held at Hawaiian Brian's on Mother's Day weekend drew thirty-seven participants eager to test their skills against Hawaii's best. The Saturday and Sunday tournament featured a double elimination, race-to-seven format with a guaranteed 1st place prize of $1,000.00.

When the smoke cleared on Sunday, Glen (Aku) Sailola, Hawaiian Brian's Pro Shop manager emerged as “King of the Hill”, defeating David Antennorcruz 7-5 in the finals.

Two of the WPBA tour players, Monica Webb and Helena Thornfeldt, were in town on vacation but declined to play citing other Hawaiian holiday interests and “tournament fatigue”. They did stop by to visit with Phoebe Choy and Dylan, Phoebe and Alex Pagulayan's newborn baby daughter.
