Karen Corr won NEWT’s 2nd tour stop at Diamond Billiards in Lancaster, PA, host of the 7th Annual Ladies Red Rose Tournament. A field of 37 came out to compete for the cash and two WPBA qualifying spots for the following week’s Valley Forge tournament room owner Coby Atkins had to offer the ladies. Coby also added $1000 to the prize fund and gave each lady a long-stemmed red rose. In return for his effort, Pechauer Cues sent Coby a beautiful Pechauer model PR17 cue. Pechauer Cues sponsors the NorthEastern Women’s Tour.

When play resumed on Sunday with the final eight players, Karen ousted all the competitors from the winner’s side to await her opponent in the finals. Karen handily posted wins over Barbuti (7-3), Harris (7-2), Rego (7-2), and K. Smith (7-1). On the one-loss side, Candi Rego defeated Julie Kelly, 7-3, to gain a rematch with Karen in the finals. Candi posted wins over Crabill (7-0), Kim (7-5), losing to Corr (7-2), Ha (7-2), Dokovic (7-3), Weis (7-6), and Hunsaker (7-5). The finals were a single race to 9. Karen continued her winning streak and defeated Candi, 9-1. The Valley Forge qualifiers were won by Cynthia Hunsaker and Kim Smith.
