A field of 27 women gathered during a beautiful sunny weekend in Beach Haven, NJ at Jack's Racks to compete in the 5th stop of the NEWT tour. Room owner, Jack Palmer, generously added $1000.00 and also added a qualifying spot for a WPBA Classic Tour event.

On Sunday the winners bracket finals match was between Karen Corr and Cynthia Hunsaker. Corr would be victorious and remain in the hot seat waiting for her opponent from the one loss side. Karen started out on Saturday with a bye (like she needs one!) then had wins over Ellen Stutz and Megan Smith. On Sunday she had wins over Romana Dokovic and Cynthia Hunsaker to then be waiting for her opponent form the one loss side. That was to be Cynthia Hunsaker again, who by getting to the finals became the winner of the WPBA qualifier. Hunsaker played strong all weekend with Saturday wins over Doreen Verna, Barbara Stock, and Gina Kim. On Sunday she had one more win on the winners side against Sue Yen Rhee before Corr sent her to the one loss side. Hunsaker then had a win over Sharon Weis which got her a rematch with Corr.

Soon after the finals started Karen took a commanding lead. It was 4-1, 5-1, (you get the picture). Karen played very strong throughout the set. When it was 8-1 (in a race to 9) Cynthia played a great 6-9 carom to make it 8-2. The match ended with Corr winning 9-2.
