The Patriot Cup
February 15 - 17, 2002
Planet 9 Ball
Tampa, Florida

Day two at the Patriot Cup is complete and Team Predator now holds a 2 match lead over Team Joss in the event.

The team from Florida began the evenings session with a one match lead and their best Straight Pool player, Ray Martin, getting ready to try to give them an even bigger lead. While Martin would win the straight pool match against Tony Robles, it was close as Martin won 100-93. With this win, Team Predator knew the worst that could happen was a tie at the end of the night.

The next event was race to three, short rack bank pool and Team Predator sent "The Rifleman", Buddy Hall to do battle against "The Iceman", Mika Immonen from Team Joss. Although most would think Team Predator would have the advantage in this match, Immonen showed his skill and won the match 3-0 to pull Team Joss back to within 1 match.

The final event of the evening was race to four, eight ball where Tommy Kennedy defeated Frankie Hernandez 4-1 to give Team Predator the lead at the end of one day of matches.

Final score after one day is Team Predator leading 5-3 in matches and 28-20 in games. Matches get underway at noon on sunday with two scotch doubles 9-ball matches followed by three singles 9-ball matches before the dinner break.
