Biography

“The Battling Beauty,” born in Bronx, N.Y., and raised in Monticello, N.Y., was a child prodigy on the talent-loaded East Coast pool scene in the ’70s and won the Women’s Professional Billiard Association “Big Apple” Amateur 8-Ball title in 1980. Mason Parker joined the WPBA Tour in mid-’80s, immediately ascended into the top 10 and was a force in a short-but-impressive career. She captured her first WPBA title, winning the McDermott Masters in 1988 at just 21 years old. Two years later, she added a “major,” winning the prestigious U.S. Open 9-Ball Championship, defeating the WPBA’s No. 1 (Ewa Mataya) and No. 2 (Loree Jon Jones) along the way. In the title match, Mason Parker beat Mataya, 11-8. Mason Parker posted second-place finishes in both the L.A. Open and International Open in 1992, and placed second to Robin Bell in the 1991 WPA World 9-Ball Championships in Las Vegas. She was ranked fourth in the WPBA from 1990-1992 and was ranked in the association’s top 10 from 1988-1993, when she retired from the tour to raise a family. In addition to her success on the WPBA Tour, Mason Parker was six-time New York State Champion and three-time New England 9-Ball Champion. Mason Parker has long been involved in charity events to raise money for various organizations. Major Titles/Finishes
