Earlier Steve Davis and Earl Strickland put on a great show in their match, with Strickland making amends for his poor performance this afternoon with a game 6-4 win. With the arena 'standing room only', both players came in to a tumultuous reception. Romford Slim came out the traps quickest, moving into a 3-1 lead. Earl won the next three to make it 4-3 in his favour but Davis levelled it. However, Earl was too strong and took the last two racks and the match. Commented Davis; " It was a terrific match and I was a bit gutted to lose. I've still got a chance to get through though as have Rico and Earl."
