2001 Pokermillion.com World Pool League

With Mika Immonen, Efren Reyes and Francisco Bustamante through to this evening's World Pool League semi-finals, the last spot will be determined by the outcome of this afternoon's final Group One match between Earl Strickland (USA) and Rico Diks of Holland

Steve Davis is still in the shake-up after his thrilling 5 - 5 draw with Bustamante which was well appreciated by a packed crowd at the University of Warsaw. Davis, who had determination written all over his face, went into a 4 - 2 lead, knowing that he needed at least a draw to keep his hopes alive. Francisco, backed by some enthusiastic Filipinos in the audience, took the next three racks to go into a 5-4 lead but justice was served when Romford Slim took the final rack for a share of the spoils.

Commented Davis; " It's down to Rico now. If he can win or draw, I go through."
