2001 Pokermillion.com World Pool League

Steve Davis will be buying Rico Diks a large drink tonight after the latter's stellar performance in putting paid to Earl Strickland's World Pool League hopes at the University of Warsaw this afternoon.

Strickland found himself in a win or bust situation after a sloppy first match on Saturday afternoon, but the London-based Dutchman held his nerve to come from 4- 3 down to win 6-4. That meant that Steve Davis, watching the match in the player's lounge clinched second place and a semi-final match-up against World Champion Mika Immonen.

Diks' win placed him above Strickland in the final standings. Diks takes home $3.000 and Strickland $2.000.
