2001 Admiral World Pool Championship THE FINAL TWO QUALIFYING SPOTS for the 2001 Admiral World Pool Championship were decided last night Stars and Stripes club in Bristol and it was a couple of Englishmen who made it through. Anthony Ginn, a regular on the UK 9-Ball circuit will take his place alongside Earl Strickland in Group 2 and Phil Harrison, an English 8-Ball player squares up to the likes of European 9-Ball champion Rico Diks and top Filipino Leonardo Andam in Group 16. Due to the late withdrawal of Shannon Daulton in Group 1, organiser Doug Gordon staged a sudden death one frame shoot out to fill Shannon's boots. Victorious Apostolis Alexandris won through and he was carried shoulder high around the pool club by a jubilant Greek contingent. His reward is a TV game against defending champ Fong Pang Chao.
