Master Class for Regal QualifierThat wealth of talent will assemble at Spencer's in Stirling from Sunday (August 26), a field of 16 players chasing the big prize - the last remaining wild-card entry for the Regal Masters, which will be staged at Glasgow's Thistle Hotel from September 18th-23rd. The action starts on Sunday at 10.00am, former Grand Prix winner Dominic Dale taking on Anthony Hamilton, while the highlight of the opening day will be the meeting of old pals Joe Swail and Patrick Wallace, Northern Ireland's top two, in a repeat of this year's Embassy World Championship quarter-final. Regal Masters winner from 1997, Nigel Bond faces Drew Henry on Monday, while Alan McManus - 'bridesmaid' in '93, '96 and '97 - starts his quest for qualification against world No.30 David Gray. The action is played out all week, culminating in the final on Friday, 31st August (11am start). The winner of the Masters qualifying tournament will face Stephen Lee in the first round proper of the £200,000 event, £63,000 of which will go to the eventual winner. Previewing the week-long tournament, Regal Masters Tournament Director, Lee Doyle said: "I think it's already been said that the entry list for the 2001 Masters is probably the best ever - and given those who are chasing the one remaining place, I believe that is certainly the case." Scots hopeful Drew Henry says: "Whoever wins through from this event will fully deserve to be included in the Regal Masters." Tickets for the Regal Masters are now available in person from the SECC Box Office, or on the credit card hotline number, 0141 587 6080.
