WALLACE PLEDGES HIS FUTURE TO 110SPORTPatrick Wallace, who reached the quarter-finals on his debut at The Crucible has signed a management contract with the East Kilbride-based company. The 31-year-old from Dungannon, Northern Ireland - who is also a qualified accountant - climbed 25 places in the rankings to No.34 in the world for the coming season, assisted by his efforts in Sheffield where he defeated former world semi-finalist Alan McManus and current top 16 player Mark King before losing out to countryman Joe Swail in the last eight. A delighted Wallace said: "My career has taken an upturn in the last year, topped off with my performance at the world championship. "Hopefully, things will continue that way and I have my sights firmly set on featuring in the latter stages of events next season, and climbing up the rankings. "I want to get things right on and off the table, and having a team like 110sport behind me will take a lot of the pressure from me. Joining their set-up really is exciting." Wallace, who formally joins on July 1 added: "I spoke to several people and all of them said that if I wanted to be professionally managed, then I should join 110sport. "I took their advice but I am my own man and the final decision was mine. I'm just delighted." Last week, Michael Judge, Joe Perry and Ryan Day joined 110sport, taking their total to 24 professionals for the 2001/2002 season, including seven-times world champion Stephen Hendry MBE, former world champions Ken Doherty, world No.1 Mark Williams and leading BBC commentator Dennis Taylor, IBSF World Champion Stephen McGuire, and top 16 stars such as Stephen Lee and Fergal O'Brien, while also sponsoring the likes of Jimmy White, Joe Swail, Dave Harold, Graeme Dott and Mark King. Making the announcement, 110sport Managing Director Gerry Sinclair said: "Patrick is another tremendous acquisition for us. He is starting to show his true quality, and hopefully we can give him the platform and the support to continue his progress in the game." Sinclair added: "We promised last week that more players would be signing with us, and I am happy to say that several more are currently talking with us with a view to joining our management group."
