28 teams showed up on Saturday June 27th to compete for $1000 in prize money at Pool & Brew's monthly scotch doubles tourney. Home field turned out to be an advantage for the team of Doug Shoup and Doug Camping who cruised to the Hot Seat with a victory over Debbie Stratmeyer and Mike Hill.

Debbie and Mike moved over to the '1 loss' side where Joe and Jess Benavidez were waiting. Joe and Jess fought to lead Hill-0 only to see Debbie and Mike come back to win the next 2 games before Joe and Jess could put them away.

The final match was a mirror image of the last in that Joe and Jess went up 3-0 and then watched as the two Dougs came back to win the next two games. In what had to be the shot of the match, Joe tried to thin the 5 ball but instead missed the 5 completely and watched the cue ball run 4 rails around the table to make the 5 and leave the easy out.

Now the Benavidez team had to beat the home team a second time to win the tourney. Doug and Doug (Doug Squared) answered the wake up call this time and led 2-1 when the Benavidez team scratched on a 2-9 bank shot, leaving the 2-9 combo for the win. 'Doug Squared' went on to close out the Benavidez team 5-1 to win the tourney and a combined $770 in prize and side pot money.
