Favourite teams win their first contests in both, juniors and pupils division

Monday, 01 August 2011: There were no surprises in the team competition of the Dynamic European Youth Championships 2011 in Luxembourg so far. None of the teams showed any weakness.

In the pupils division, team Poland beat team Switzerland 2:1 in the first winner's round after having had a walk over in the first round. They will meet team Netherlands on Wednesday evening. The same goes for the other two teams on the winner's side. Team Russia took no prisoners so far and sent team Norway to the loser's side with a clear 3:0 victory. Germany delivered the same fate to team Austria and won with the same result. Team Russia and team Germany will continue their quest for glory with an interesting match on Wednesday evening, 20:15 local time.

In the juniors division, team Germany is defending the title. They made their way over Spain (3:0) and Croatia (2:0) and will play in the winner's qualification round on Wednesday against team Poland. The Polish juniors have won surprisingly clear against team Russia with 3:0 in the first round. Then they overpowered team Hungary with 2:0 to meet the Germans in the next round. Team Netherlands comes from the lower part of the winner's bracket. They just won over a strong Austrian team with 2:1 and then had another tough battle against the Swedes which they also just won 2:1. The Dutch have probably had the toughest draw in the juniors division so far. They will play team Slovakia in the winner's qualification round.

Tuesday starts with the 8-ball competition until 17:00 local time. Then the quarters, semis and finals of the 10-ball competition will be played. The finals should start around 20:00.
