26th Annual US Open

Ralf Souquet Interview.

AZB: We are at the US Open with Ralf Souquet. How are you doing so far, Ralf?

Ralf: Well, I'm doing pretty good so far. I am still on the winners side. I'm in the top 12 right now.

AZB: The tables are playing kinda tough out there.

Ralf: Oh yeah, no matter what kind of tables Barry puts up here. He is cooling down the room pretty hard and that makes each table play a little more difficult than they would under regular conditions. But, those Diamond tables here are playing really tough.

AZB: But you are hitting them good so far. Who was your last match?

Ralf: The last match was David Matlock and I won 11-4.

AZB: And your next match?

Ralf: To be honest, I don't know. It was the winner of Itsuno and Troy Frank.

AZB: So with Amsterdam postponed, where are you playing after this?

Ralf: My next tournament will be a team event in Germany. It was supposed to be Amsterdam's. After that I am going to play the Sudden Death 7-ball tournament in Baltimore.

AZB: You have Mosconi Cup coming up towards the end of the year. You are playing there, right?

Ralf: I haven't got the invitation yet, but I hope I am going to be on the team again.

AZB: You had a good showing in Cardiff. What was that like?

Ralf: I played a great tournament, except for the finals. For some reason, I couldn't get going at all in the finals. Mika played well, don't get me wrong. But, I didn't play even 50% the way I played in the matches before.

AZB: So, you have Itsuno tomorrow. Good luck.

Ralf: Thanks a lot.
