Day 4 is complete at the US Open and now that we are in the money rounds, some of the name players are being eliminated or are staying in the tournament by the barest of threads.
The losers side saw a great match between Jim Rempe and Jeff Pillon. Pillon climbed to the hill early with a 10-6 lead but was unable to get over. Rempe came all the way back to hill-hill and missed the 9-ball in the case game. Pillon had a makeable 9-ball that could have gone in the side or corner pocket but Pillon also missed the 9 and then conceded the game to Rempe. "I didn't want to shoot it" commented Rempe immediately following the match.
Charlie Williams went from leading Allen Hopkins 10-7 on the winners side to being eliminated by George San Souci less than 3 hours later.
The surprise of the tournament so far, Russell Parsons, finally had his run on the winners side halted by Ty Laha but immediataly went to the one loss side and sent Nick Varner home by the score of 11-7.
