Western Canadian Open 9-ball Championships Join WPA World Tour

IBC and the World-Pool Billiard Association are pleased to announce the addition of the Western Canadian Open 9-Ball Championships as one of the 12 sanctioned events which make up the 2003 WPA WORLD TOUR. This event is being co-produced by Southern Music Ltd and Great White Billiards in Calgary, Alberta, CANADA, April 15-19/03. This event will feature a total payout of C$40,000 with C$10,000 for first place. Only 128 entries will be accepted and the field is filling quickly. There will be only 3 independently sanctioned events in North America during the 2003 WPA WORLD TOUR. The Western Canadian Open 9-Ball Championships will be the first event April 15-19/03 followed by the BCA Open 9-Ball Championships May 11-17/03 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The third event will be announced soon.

The winners from all 12 sanctioned events will be invited to the WPA World Tour Finals in Tokyo, Japan Nov 7-9/03. Here they will compete in a total field of 32 players where all players will win prize money, and $25,000 USD will be paid to the winner who will be named “2003 WORLD TOUR CHAMPION”.
