2010 Super Billiards Expo Underway

The 2010 Super Billiards Expo kicked off March 18th at the Valley Forge Convention Center in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. This year's expo introduced a new Wednesday Night Warm-up event allowing 296 players to participate in 37 individual 8-player mini tournaments. The winners from each mini walked away with $400 each. Nearly $15,000 total cash prizes were awarded.

The open amateur division drew 864 entries from all parts of the U.S., including players from Puerto Rico, China, Japan, France, Italy, and Germany. Each year, this event fills with a waitlist. This year was no different. 75 latecomers will have to settle for the Sunday scramble event. Possible plans for next year include adding more tables to accommodate for the growing attendance.

As we enter the fifth round in Day 2 of the Open division, notable players set to compete are Manny Chau, Scott Tollefson, Ike Runnels, and Matt Clatterbuck. The remaining amateur divisions begin today with 178 players in the Women's, 384 players in the Senior's, and 64 players in each of the Junior's divisions. All the divisions will wrap up Sunday, March 21st.
