2011 ACS Midwest 8-Ball Championships To Offer National Referee Certification Course

The American CueSports Alliance (ACS) will be hosting the 2011 ACS Midwest 8-Ball Championships – presented by Lucasi Hybrid Cues - for the second year, January 20-23, at the Riverside Resort & Casino in Riverside, IA (near Iowa City).  National ACS Director of Referees, Cecil Messer, will be on hand to conduct a national referee certification course throughout the event.  The classroom portion of the course begins on Wednesday evening, January 19 at 6:00 pm, with further class work to continue Thursday morning.  Thereafter, supervised floor time will be scheduled around a player's tournament competition schedule.  Those attendees who pass the course will qualify to become an ACS National Referee. Entry forms for qualified ACS league members with a minimum of 4 weeks of play under their belt are available through their league operator or online at www.americancuesports.org.  Postmark deadline for entry is Monday, January 3, 2011.  Play in this popular event will be on forty (40) Valley Cougar tables, with tournament direction provided by Gary Benson of High Country Promotions.
