2024 SVB Junior Open Entries Open Now

The SVB Junior Open returns to the World Nineball Tour alongside the prestigious US Open Pool Championship in Atlantic City, USA from August 22-23.

  • $10,000 prize fund on offer
  • Tournament to take place on August 22-23
  • Opportunity opens to all juniors aged 17 and under

Since the inaugural SVB Junior Open in 2022, Matchroom’s commitment to growing the grassroots of pool continues to expand, with the SVB Junior Open returning as the fourth junior tournament on the 2024 World Nineball Tour.

Named after the five-time US Open Champion Shane Van Boening, the SVB Junior Open will offer a prize fund of $10,000 in a 32-player double elimination format similar to the JS Junior Open and the Fillers Junior Open. Entry will cost $100, which will be refunded after the event is completed, provided they participate.

“I am excited to see the SVB Junior Open continue to grow and provide a platform for young players to showcase their talents,” said Shane Van Boening. “It’s important to support the next generation of players and give them opportunities to compete and learn in a professional environment.”

Onboard Sportswear will provide a free custom SVB Junior Open jersey so all can feel and look the part as they compete in the same main event arena of the US Open Pool Championship at Harrah’s Resort Casino, Atlantic City, from 19-24 August 2024.

Young cueists can anticipate an exhilarating competition reminiscent of last year’s event, where Lazaro Martinez was crowned winner of the second SVB Open by defeating the Estonian prodigy Karl Gnadeberg 9-7.

The final will be live streamed on the Matchroom Pool social media pages with coverage also set to feature during the live broadcast on Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland, DAZN in the USA and Brazil, and networks worldwide.

Juniors competing in the tournament will not be eligible to compete in the main US Open Pool Championship due to match schedules. As part of the entry to the SVB Junior Open, juniors will receive a guest pass and three additional tickets for the days they compete, allowing them to have time to study the world’s best as they battle.
