ABP Sanctions the World Tournament of 14.1

On August 28-Sept 2, history will be made with the Association of Billiard Professionals World Tournament of 14.1, the largest prize fund in straight pool history with a 35,000USD added totaling to a 70,000USD prize fund. The World Tournament is the oldest tournament in history that still exists today. Also making this event all the more special, this will be the first officially sanctioned tournament by the ABP. It is the ABP's goal for ABP sanctioning to mean that a tournament meets, or exceeds the guidelines set forth by the ABP body and raises the bar for our sport.

In addition, this event will be a BCA/ABP rankings event for ½ points. The top 32 BCA/ABP ranked pros will receive an automatic invite to the event and 6 qualifiers are already set nationwide. So expect some of your favorite American and international pool players to be there. This is one event you will not want to miss!

"I love that this event is a sanctioned ranking event. We need these kind of events on our calendar. I wish we had more 14.1 tournaments. We need to keep straight pool alive and well because it's a great game", says Mika Immonen, ABP Board Member and 2x World Champion.
