Vujanic not an obstacle for strong Nechaeva

Anastasia Nechaeva (RUS)
Portoroz, Slovenia: At the Dynamic Billard European Pool Championship, Anastasia Nechaeva (RUS) could not be stopped by Dunja Vujanic (SRB) and clearly snatched the match with 7:1.

It could be witnessed from the start of the match that Vujanic seemed to be very nervous. Her opponent Nechaeva showed less nerves and consequently took a comfortable 3:0 lead. The 4th rack seemed to be the uprising of Vujanic. Nechaeva lost the cue ball on her break and Vujanic found a tough rack in front of her. However, she mastered shot after shot and ran a challenging rack to come to 1:3. Would the penny have dropped with Vujanic? The answer came straight away from Nechaeva. She ran out on Vujanic's break which was dry. That somehow seemed to be the finish for Vujanic. She could not take her performance up to what it was in the 4th rack. Instead she committed more and more mistakes which lead into Nechaeva gaining more and more self confidence. In the end, the 7:1 victory from the young Russian was well deserved.

Other notable results include Barbara Bolfelli (ITA) whitewashing Christine Wiechert (GER) with 7:0. The same result was good for Sandra Baumgartner (AUT) over Masa Muster (SLO). Nechaeva's teammate Nataliya Seroshtan (RUS) claimed her right to join the final 32 players by eliminating Agne Jarusauskaite (LIT) with 7:1.

The tournament will continue tomorrow morning at 09:00 CET with more 9-ball single elimination action. All matches can be viewed LIVE at www.kozoom.com.
