Abbink scores another Michigan win

Rachael Abbink

Rachael Abbink got off to a bumpy start but once again displayed her dominance of the J. Pechauer Michigan Women's 9-Ball Tour at The Shark Club in Canton, MI.

Abbink, who had won three of the last five stops on the tour, was stunned by Linda Middleton who handed Abbink a 7-6 loss in the first round.

Tour director Alice Rim was more than able to take advantage of Abbink's early trip to the one-loss side, and took the hot-seat with a 7-3 win over Kelly Pendleton. Pendleton took the trip to the left side of the board, only to find Abbink waiting. Abbink came out the winner in a 7-6 match with Pendleton to set up the finals between Rim and Abbink.

These two players faced off against each other in Lansing last October with Abbink coming out on top 9-5. The result would be identical this time, with Abbink earning the 9-5 win and celebrating her second straight victory at The Shark Club.

Abbink collected $400, while Rom settled for $250. Pendleton and Angela Mears filled out the top four spots.

The J. Pechauer Michigan Women's 9-Ball Tour will be at The Billiard Café in Battle Creek, MI on May 8th-9th for a WPBA Canadian Classic Qualifier.
