The ACUI Collegiate Billiards Championship kicked off on Tuesday evening at the Bone Student Center in Normal, Illinois with fifty three players competing across the Men's and Women's divisions.
With two rounds of play complete in the Men's division, Sam Gilmer from Mississippi State is looking strong after an 8-0 win over Jeff Thune from North Dakota State and an 8-1 win over Adam Pfeifer from Kansas State. Grant Moller (University of Maryland), David Fitzgerald (Southern Illinois Edwardsville), Jason Burns (Clark State) and Luke McDonald (Ohio State) are also undefeated with two wins already.
The Women's division has one round of play complete with strong early wins by Kristine Landry (Fitchburg State), Stephanie Sevigny (North Dakota State), Shari Cui (University of Illinois) and Monica Fox (University of Florida).
