Andy Quinn Stakes Claim to Midwest 9-Ball Tour Win

The Midwest 9-Ball Tour made its way to Break Billiards in Cahokia, Illinois the weekend of October 6th and 7th for a $2500 added bar table nine ball event. With a total of fifty-three players, the field was full of not only local talent, but well known names such as Buddy Hall, Justin Bergman and Jesse Bowman.

In addition to these great players, one of the junior players came out of the wood work to try his hand with the big boys – fourteen year old Schuyler Woodward. Not only did he have a great tournament, but he cashed in 7th/8th place.

After a competitive weekend, the final round drew together Andy Quinn and Justin Bergman. Quinn ran through the winners bracket field and claimed the hot seat, while Bergman took the long road. After a second round upset, Bergman fought through ten matches in a row for his opportunity at Quinn. Upon reaching the finals, he was able to post up six games in a race to nine, but that was the farthest he would go as Quinn closed out the set 9-6 for the win.

The next stop of the Midwest 9-Ball Tour is Thursday, October 25th through Sunday, October 28th at Shooters Billiards in Olathe, Kansas. There will be a $1000 added one-pocket event ($60 entry-deadline October 25th at 8 pm), and $4000 added bar table event ($65 entry open/$50 entry women-deadline October 26th 8 pm).
