Beau Runningen Wins BACK to BACK Stops at the Mezz LA 9 Ball Series

Stop #10 of the Mezz LA 9 Ball Series opened up to a tough field of SoCal pool players, with Beau Runningen (736) taking down his SECOND tournament win in the series – back to back! Beau had a tough second round draw and was sent to the one loss side early, only to come back and win 8 straight matches in a row, defeating Rhino Lay (617) in the final, 9-4.

Beau’s road to the final started off with a convincing win against newcomer Mike Adams (644), followed by an early defeat to Jerry Lazzareschi (644). He dusted off the loss quickly, and stayed laser focused the remainder of the tournament, taking down Al Garcia (602), newcomer Ken Johnson (642), Chris Wedekind (634), Joseph Leon (584), newcomer Tim Traver (555), Stop #9 runner-up Cody Gragg (634), and finally young gun Keegan “K9” Badour (626) before reaching the final against Rhino. Now in full stroke, Beau was able to put his power break to work in full force, winning the match 9-4 against the relentless Cambodian.

Rhino had a strong showing this event as well leading up to the final, capturing the hot seat after defeating Robert Lauria (420), Jeffrey Jamerson (538), Joseph Leon (584), and newcomer Nuoen “DT” Liu (586). Down 5-1 in a race to 6 to Keegan “K9” Badour for the hot seat, Rhino stayed focused and patient, making steady runouts to take the match down hill-hill and a place in the final.

A few new players have joined the series: Luke Lao, Tony Kinney, Ken Johnson, Jared Pitts, Mike Adams, Tim Traver, and Stephen Lamb.
