Broxson wins Florida Pro Tour Stop

David Broxson completed an undefeated run through the field of 50 players at the Seminole Florida Pro Tour stop at Capones Billiards in Springhill, Florida this weekend.

While Ray Martin was the story on Saturday, Sunday was a completely different situation. Martin started Sunday play with an 8-5 loss to James Laderia. After an 8-6 win over Richie Richeson, Martin then lost to Trevor Braymore 8-6.

Early favorite Earl Strickland started Sunday play with back-to-back wins over Robb Saez and Mike Davis, but then found himself on the wrong side of an 8-4 match with Tony Crosby.

After Broxson took the hot-seat with an 8-2 win over Benny Conway Jr, it was Crosby vs Conway on the one loss side. Conway took that match 8-6 to earn another shot at Broxson in the finals.

The finals were much more competitive with both players bringing their 'A' games, but once again it was Broxson with the win. This time, by the score of 9-7.

Broxson earned $3000 for first place, while Conway took home $2000 for second. Crosby and Braymore filled out the top four spots.

The Florida Pro Tour season finale is scheduled for October 7th-9th at Strokers Billiards in Palm Harbor, FL. The event will feature $15,000 in added prize money, and participation in at least two previous events this year is required. There are 78 players qualified to play in the season finale, and there will be no limit on players participating.
