Bustamante and Chou score Japan Open wins

Francisco Bustamante defeated Efren Reyes in an all-Filipino finals at the 23rd Annual Japan Open 9-Ball Championship over the weekend. The win was Bustamante's third victory in this event as he hoisted the trophy in 1992 and 2002.

Bustamante's path to the finals included wins over Toshiyuki Sugawara and countryman Jeffrey De Luna, while Reyes scored wins over Naoyuki Oi and Toru Kuribayashi on his way to the finals.

The final match between the two countrymen and friends, went Bustamante's way 11-5. The win was worth 1,500,000 Japanese Yen for Bustamante, while Reyes settled for 750,000 Yen.

The ladies division saw Taipei's Chieh-Yu Chou score a 9-8 win over China's Ja Li in the finals to earn her first Japan Open victory. 

The win was worth 400,000 Yen for Chou, with Li settling for 200,000.
