Cancer Charity Event Scheduled for September 20th-21st in New England

It is always a wonderful feeling to get involved with an organization(s) that helps many.  With cancer affecting scores of people in the world today, it is one cause that is brought to the forefront moreso than most that not only could, but most likely will touch someone in our own lives.

We (AZBilliards.com) and several of you received an email update from a recent charity event that Tony Robles held – the final results for that event can be found here.  Included in Robles' email was a blurp about an event that will take place this weekend, September 20th-21st.

In the email, Robles stated “for the last eleven years, Anthony [Costanzo], has put together a charity event for the American Cancer Society and the Roger William Hospital Cancer Unit to benefit those with cancer and also in memory of Tony and Phyllis Costanzo.”  The information was provided in that particular email, but we thought we would pass it along to you as well.  Kudos to Tony and the crew for bringing top talent to his worthy event and for recognizing others attempting to do the same.

This weekend, the 12th Annual New England 9-Ball Tournament will take place to support the two organizations noted above at Rhode Island Billiard Bar & Bistro in North Providence, Rhode Island.  The tournament boasts a $1500 added, double elimination event racing to nine (finals race to eleven).

For those of you in the surrounding area, this is a great cause and I hope you will join in for a weekend of fun and competition to help raise money in memory of two individuals that I am sure meant the world to their family and friends.  The venue opens the doors at 10 a.m., with play beginning both days at noon. The entry for professional players is $100; open level $75; “A” level $55; and “B” level $45.

If you would like to find out more about the venue, visit the website at www.ribbb.com or contact Anthony Costanzo III at (401) 232-1330 x101.
