Tayfun Tasdemir
Saturday play at the 2023 Carom Cafe International Open will kick off at 10AM EST, when the players in the 1st phase of the finals will play their final matches, hoping to be part of the top sixteen players to advance into the 2nd phase of play.
The event got underway on Monday the 31st, with 70 players spread across ten groups. Those groups played down to thirty players, who were then joined by 2019 World Champion Sameh Sidhom and 2022 World Champion Tayfun Tasdemir. Both Sidhom and Tasdemir look like they are safely into the next phase of play with Sidhom turning in a 6-0 record in his group so far. Tasdemir has a 5-1 record, with his sole lose being to Ricard Carranco.
The thirty two players still in contention will play at 10AM and noon, before the players take a break while the calculations are made to see who the top four players are, who will then move into the single elimination stage of the event.
