Cuetec Cues Signs Former U.S. Open Champion, Shane Van Boening

Cuetec and exclusive U.S distributor Imperial International are pleased to announce that the 2007 U.S. Open Champion, Shane Van Boening, has joined their team of professional players representing Cuetec Cues.  Van Boening will make his debut appearance as a Cuetec representative at the Imperial International & Cuetec booth at the 2009 BCA Expo June 25-27 in Las Vegas, NV.

Van Boening stormed onto the professional pool scene in 2007 when he captured the U.S. Open Championship title. He continued his reign as the #1 ranked player in the United States with multiple titles over the next couple of years including the Derby City Classic 9-ball and the World Cup of Pool. This fall he will return to the World Cup of Pool stage to defend his title against many of the top players in the world.

About Shane Van Boening

On July 14, 1983, Shane Van Boening was born into a family with a rich history in the billiard world.  Shane's mom (Timi Bloomberg) and aunt (Gari Jo Bloomberg) are both former VNEA Naitonal 8-Ball Champions.  Shane, his aunt and his grandmother (Jeanie Bloomberg) have all been inducted to the VNEA Hall of Fame. His grandfather, Gary Bloomberg, was a trick shot artist when Shane was growing up and he traveled the country performing.  .  
 
Although he's only 25 years old, he has been playing much longer than most players his age.  Shane began playing at 2 years old and won his first State Championship (9-ball) at the age of 10. He won the VNEA & BCA National 8-Ball Championships multiple times during his amateur career. He made his first appearance in the finals of a major Professional event at the Enjoypool.com 9-Ball Championships where he entered the tournament with a "wild card" spot, as he was a special sponsor invite.  

Over the course of his still young professional career, Shane's has amassed many titles including U.S Open Champion, The World Cup of Pool and the Derby City 9-Ball Classic.
