Day 5 at Derby

Francisco Bustamante

Entering round five of the one-pocket division, approximately 80 players remain of the 289 entrants. Still undefeated are John Brumback, Francisco Bustamante and Alex Pagulayan who will face each other, Scott Frost, Rafael Martinez, and Sylver Ochoa. Efren Reyes lost his second match in the Accu-stats arena to Cliff Joyner.

Last night's bank pool finals sends champion Brumback into the lead for Master of the Table points. The exhausted Reyes could still have a chance at the all around considering his history in the one-pocket division. Brumback hopes to finish higher than Reyes in both the upcoming events.

The Horseshoe Southern Indiana welcomes the many 9-ball players that arrive this evening to the FatBoy 10-ball Challenge and one-handed one-pocket mini tournament. Players' meeting for the 9-ball event is at noon tomorrow and matches begins at 1.

And the straight pool challenge continues with today's high runs:

156  John Schmidt
99  Corey Deuel
91  Beau Runningen
83  Alex Pagulayan
81  Ralf Eckert
