Dean Gupton of Accu-Stats has Passed Away

It is with great sorrow that AZB must report the passing of one of pro pool's insiders. Long-time cameraman Charles "Dean" Gupton of Accu-Stats Video Productions passed away while working at the Derby City Classic on January 26th of heart failure.

Dean was the ultimate professional at his job. A quiet bear of a man with a smile that gladdened every heart, he was always willing to lend a hand to any who asked. His forever gentle sense of humor endeared him to all who had the pleasure of working alongside him.

Dean, a bail bondsman by trade, had worked with Accu-Stats for over 15 years and was expert at pool videography. He knew the players and the game so well that he could predict the motions of the players and was never caught out of position with his lens.

Born in Henderson, NC, on July 12, 1953, Dean moved to Danville, Virginia at age 12 and made that his home for the rest of his life. Our most heartfelt condolences go out to all of his family and friends, most notably his best friend of 45 years, Julian Robertson, also of Accu-Stats.
