Deuel, Dominguez fall at Turning Stone

One day of play is complete at the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour's Turning Stone Classic XV and all of the players have played one match.

Defending champion Johnny Archer had his hands full early with William Oney. Oney raced out to a 5-0 lead, but that was as far as he would get as Archer won the next nine games for the 9-5 lead. Archer will face Tony Robles Friday at noon.

Corey Deuel found himself trailing Quebec's Dany Normandin 4-0 and was unable to dig himself out of that hole. Deuel was able to get back within two games at 7-5 before Normandin won the final two games for the 9-5 win. Deuel will face Randy Whitehead on Friday.

Deuel was joined on the one loss side by Oscar Dominguez. Dominguez was not playing his characteristic game, and Mike Yednak was more than happy to take advantage of it. Dominguez fought back to hill-hill before a foul on the four ball allowed Yednak to run out the final rack for the 9-8 win. Dominguez will take on Rick Grannis on Friday.
