Dickerson and Kennedy Take down Poison Tour Opener

The Poison Tour Kicked off there first event at Corner Pockets in Orlando, Florida May 8th-9th  with 86 players taking part over the two days.

Saturday would see a strong 58 player field show up for the $1000 Added Amateur event. Travis Moore from Orlando was looking unstoppable as he made his way through to the hotseat with wins over Bobby Livrago 7-2, Eric Stanley 7-2, Glen Lynch 7-4, Chip Dickerson 7-5 and then a hard fought win 7-6 over Carlos Torres to take the hotseat.

The one loss side would see Chip Dickerson looking strong after taking a 7-5 loss to Moore, Dickerson would go onto score wins over Jim Sandaler 5-3, George Saunders 5-4 and then a win via a forfeit from Torres who is a Doctor on Call which would put him in the final for a revenge match with Moore. A revenge match it was with Dickerson on a mission and firing his way to a 6-0 lead, Moore would fight hard make the score look respectable but the damage was done Dickerson would take the match 8-4 to take first place in this Poison tour Opener.

Sunday would see the Pro's show up for the $1000 Added open event. Mother's day would keep some players away however this did not make this event any easier with some of the best players in Florida turning out, Tommy Kennedy, Mike Davis, Richie Richeson, Justin Hall and WPBA touring Pro Michell Monk to mention a few.

The day kicked of with the some great match ups and one of them would be Tommy Kennedy taking a 7-6 win over Hall who had missed a long 9 ball to win this match. Mike Davis was another player looking strong on the day as he would make his way to the hotseat with some hard fought wins over Lincoln Seiffert 7-5, Wesley White 7-5, Adam Wheeler 7-1, Tommy Kennedy 7-5 and then a strong win over Richie Richeson to capture the hotseat. Tommy Kennedy was navigating his way back through the field after a 7-5 loss to Davis he would score strong wins over Jerry Troisi 6-1, Adam Wheeler 6-4 and then a 6-1 win over Richeson to make his way back to the final to play Davis. This was the 3rd time in a row Kennedy and Davis would play each other in the finals, Kennedy had come out winner on the first two occasions and this one was no different as Kennedy was looking confident from his earlier wins coming out playing great pool to beat Mike Davis 9-5 to take 1st place with the beautiful Poison trophy supplied by a Touch of Glass( Javier Chirino).
