Disher leads Cardiff field

With day two complete at the 2003 World Pool Championship, Ireland's Tommy 'The Disher' Donlon is leading the pack with a 4-0 record and a total of only seven racks lost. Donlon, whose previous best finish in Cardiff was a loss in the first round of the 64 player elimination stage of the event, made it into the event through a qualifier prior to the main event.

Alex Pagulayan is also undefeated in Donlon's group, along with 14 players in other groups.

Reigning World Pool Champion Earl Strickland has bounced back from a 5-4 loss to Ying-Chieh Chen on Day One, to score three wins and is now second in his group.

Most other US representatives in Cardiff are not faring as well. Shawn Putnam, Art Wiggins, Charlie Williams, Johnny Archer, Corey Deuel, Bill Ferguson, Rodney Morris and Nick Varner all have at least two losses while Max Eberle, Teddy Garrahan, Danny Harriman and Jimmy Wetch have all lost one match.
