Former NFL Stars Mark Duper and Mark Clayton kick off 2008 WPBA Tour Championship / 2008 Steve Mizerak Championship

HOLLYWOOD- The Seminole Tribe of Florida will host the 3rd annual Steve Mizerak Championship, the season ending event to the Seminole Pro Tour, in conjunction with the 2008 Women's Professional Billiard Association's Tour Championship.  These events, being coined “Pool Players in Paradise”, will be held on November 13th – November 16th, 2008 at the Seminole Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, FL.  With each tournament projecting a field of 64 players, this is sure to provide spectators a unique opportunity to watch world-class men and women play side-by-side in the same venue.

Former NFL and Miami Dolphin greats, Mark Duper and Mark Clayton, will kick off the championships with a Celebrity Charity Pro-Am on November 12th also at the Seminole Hard Rock Live.  Current and retired athletes, local media personalities and professional billiards players will team up to compete in a friendly and exciting tournament.  Spectators are welcome to watch for a $20 donation or may also enter into the tournament for a $100 donation per player.  Guests will also enjoy music, food, drinks and a silent auction with unique sports memorabilia presented by Field of Dreams.  All proceeds benefit Vivian Villarreal's foundation Vivian's Kidz, for missing and exploited children.  

The Seminole Pro Tour is a series of 10-ball billiards tournaments held throughout the Southeast Region.  Top-level professionals such as Corey Deuel, Earl Strickland, Rodney Morris, Johnny Archer, and Stevie Moore have competed for over $125,000 throughout the regular season.

The Women's Professional Billiard Association, which has been in existence for over 20 years, is the preeminent women's tour in the world.  #1 Ranked Player Kelly Fisher will come to the Seminole Hard Rock Live looking to defend her top ranking against players such as Allison Fisher, Jeanette Lee, Karen Corr, Ga Young Kim, and more!
