Four Men Remain Undefeated At Canadian 8-Ball Championships

Tyler Edey

Four remain undefeated at the Canadian Open 8-Ball Championships. The upper bracket match ups are 2006 Canadian 8-Ball champ, Jason Klatt against Tyler Edey and Alain Martel versus Jerry Young.

Other notables fighting to stay alive in the one loss bracket are defending champ Francis Crevier, Edwin Montal, John Morra, and Ron Wiseman.

Montal was knocked to the lower bracket by Klatt in a 9-8 barn burner. Klatt survived a 6-0 deficit to win this match, & then won his next match against Chris Orme, 9-1. Wiseman lost a heart breaking 9-8 match to Young, and now plays Crevier.

In women's play, Veronique Menard squares off against Naomi Williams in the hot seat match. Left on the one loss side are young Brittany Bryant and touring pro Cathy Metzinger. Bryant eliminated the defending champion, Rachel Abbink, 7-2. Metzinger defeated fellow pro, Maureen Seto, 7-5 in her last match. Abbink eliminated Joanne Ashton, former WPBA rookie of the year, from the event.
