Grau gets first Joss win

Dave Grau made his way undefeated through the field of players at the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour event at Cap's Cue Club in Syracuse, NY.

Grau took the hot-seat with a 9-5 win over Gary Empey. The loss to Grau sent Empey to face Dennis Hatch on the one loss side. Empey jumped out to a quick 5-1 lead in that match and then held on to score the 9-5 win.

Unfortunately for Empey, the rematch with Grau was a repeat of the earlier match as Grau cruised to a 9-4 win.

Grau earned $1200 for the win; his first on the Joss Tour. Empey settled for $800. Hatch and Tom D'Alfonso filled out the top four spots.

The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will be at The Turning Stone Casino in Verona NY next week for the $25,000 added Turning Stone Classic VI. The event is full with 128 players signed up including such notables as Johnny Archer, Danny Basavich, Karen Corr, Kim Davenport, Corey Deuel, Thorsten Hohmann, Mika Immonen, Keith McCready, Shawn Putnam, George San Souci and Ralf Souquet. We will have complete coverage of the event including brackets and photos starting on Thursday.
