Hatch holds off Ginky for win number 3

Dennis Hatch

The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour was at Snookers in Providence, RI for the 20th Annual Ocean State 9-Ball Championship where a field of 79 other players stepped up to try to stop Dennis Hatch's Joss Tour winning streak. The field included such heavyweights as Tony Robles, George San Souci, Mike Dechaine, Jeremy Sossei, Dave Fernandez and Joe Tucker.

Hatch had won the last two Joss Tour events without dropping a match, and that streak continued through the hot-seat match where Hatch defeated Mike Dechaine 9-7.

On the one loss side, George "Ginky" San Souci avenged his earlier loss to Dechaine and stepped up to try to keep Hatch from another winners circle.

The first set of the true double elimination finals went to Ginky 9-5 and all of a sudden, Hatch looked beatable. Hatch quickly did away with any ideas of Ginky beating him again, and cruised to a 9-4 win for his third straight victory.

The players on the Joss Tour will get a week off next week to try to formulate a new plan for beating Hatch, and the Tour will be at Raxx Pool Room and Grill  in W. Hempstead on December 6th and 7th for their next event.

Players are still urged to get their entries in early for the Turning Stone Classic X on February 21 - 24 at Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY. Players can call Mike Zuglan at (518) 356-7163 to enter.
