Hohmann wins Turning Stone Classic VI

Thorsten Hohmann has won the Turning Stone Classic VI at Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY.

Hohmann took the hot-seat earlier Sunday with a 9-5 win over Keith McCready who had notable wins over Danny Basavich and Mika Immonen on his way to the match. McCready bounced back with a strong 9-5 win over Ralf Souquet on the one loss side to earn the rematch with Hohmann.

The final race to thirteen match started close with the score tied at 1-1, 2-2 and 3-3 before Hohmann pulled ahead by two games at 5-3. It was then that Hohmann took control of the match and started playing the dominating pool that he is known for. Hohmann turned up the heat on McCready and cruised to a 13-3 win for the tournament victory.

Hohmann earned $8000 for first place, while McCready settled for $5260 in second place prize money. Ralf Souquet and Samuel 'Sparky' Ferrell filled out the top four places.
