Josh Johnson wins All American Tour Stop

The third stop of the 50-stop 2008/2009 Pechauer All American Tour (produced by the American CueSports Alliance – ACS) was hosted at Dave's Good Times in West Peoria, IL, on Saturday, October 11.  The $500 added event featured twenty-eight players in a double-elimination 8-ball format on 7-foot bar boxes.  Josh Johnson (Bettendorf, IA) marched undefeated to the finals.  In the A-side finals, Johnson managed Brad Ogborn (Pekin, IL) well by a 7-3 margin.  Earlier in the A-bracket semis, Johnson turned back Jamey Bowman (E. Moline, IL) 7-4, while Ogborn clipped Buford Pusser (Pekin, IL) 7-6.  In the B-side quarterfinals Brad Ogborn – saddled with an early-round loss – eliminated Jamey Bowman at 5th place 7-6, while Buford Pusser tied with Bowman, courtesy of a 7-5 decision at the hands of Rich Bideaux (Moline, IL).  In the B-side semifinals Ogborn took another victim by ousting Bideaux at 4th place by a slim 7-6 margin.  Ogborn continued his recovery in the one-loss side by clipping John Pekora (Springfield, IL) in the B-side finals 7-5.  Momentum for Brad Ogborn ceased in the tourney finals, as Josh Johnson put the clamps down in one set, to claim the title by a 7-3 margin!

By virtue of Josh Johnson being the highest-finishing ACS member in the event, he qualified for a free 9-Ball singles entry into the 2009 ACS Nationals in Las Vegas – courtesy of the ACS.  The ACS wishes to thank sponsors J. Pechauer Custom Cues, Championship Billiard Fabric, Nick Varner Signature Cases and oZone Billiards for their support in donating “Value-In-Kind” product for this and all stops on the Pechauer All American Tour. Sponsorship opportunities are still available for the 2008/2009 All American Tour by contacting the ACS.
