This weekend, Nov 5 & 6, the Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour will be at Hippo's House Of Billiards in Utica NY for the 3rd annual "Al Conte Memorial" 9-ball open. In case you didn't know, Al Conte was one of our sports most famous and knowledgeable pool table mechanics. So good was Al that even Brunswick would consult with him regarding improvements to their famous line of Gold Crown pool tables. But above all of that, Al was one of our sports most well liked and respected people. He was a friend to everyone who came to know him. He is dearly missed by all of us! The Conte family deserves our thanks for hosting what promises to be another great event in memory of "Big Al". Why not come and be a part of it!
Hippo's is one of upstate New York's premier rooms. They have everything from great equipment, home made food specials and beer and wine if you so choose. You could even win a $1,200 custom engraved Joss cue by participating in Hippo's cue raffle. This event at Hippo's will consist of a $1500 added Saturday and Sunday Main Event (entry Fee $120 for pro level or $70 for non pro level) and a $500 added consolation event on Sunday ($20 Entry Fee) for those non pro level players eliminated from the main event on Saturday. Both events will run simultaneously on Sunday until completion.
For those of you coming to play, please arrive on Saturday November 5 before noon in proper dress of, no T-shirts, shorts or sweat clothes please. Jeans, sneakers and a shirt with a collar works just fine at all of our billiard parlor events! If coming to watch, play will begin at about 1pm Saturday and noon, or earlier on Sunday.
