I am extremely proud to announce my Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour's, "Joss Junior 9-Ball Championship", to be held on September 17 & 18, 2016 at the beautiful Sharp Shooters Billiards & Sports Pub in Amsterdam NY. This will be a "Special Event" as part of our upcoming 2016/2017 season schedule This will also be our first ever Junior event which will include two tournaments at the same time. There will be an 18 and under event as well as a 12 and under event. The winners of each division will receive a beautiful engraved Joss Cue. Other, Non Cash, prizes will be awarded as they become available. Peter Hemendinger, Tim Berlin (owner of Sharp Shooters) and myself, Mike Zuglan, will be coordinating and directing the events. Peter has already secured some outside sponsorship including printed T-shirts for all players as well as some cash to be used to purchase items for prizes. My goal is that each participant receives something. No cash will be used for prizes to any junior in either event.
There is a pre registration fee of $25.00 ($35.00 at the door if the fields are not already full) for each of the events. All fees will be used to purchase prizes to be given to the participants. I have included more info regarding the events and info below.
We are currently seeking more sponsorship items to add to our list of prizes for the kids. If you or your company would like to donate any items, or cash to be used to purchase items, or provide a discount for items we may like to purchase, or even donate your time to come and referee a match or two, it would be greatly appreciated! Any pro players that may want to stop by and show these kids a thing or two, should contact me well before the event. When I have a complete sponsor list, I will post them in a seperate press release and again with the results.
FYI, I have seen first hand the passion these kids have for pool. They just want to play because it is fun to them!! Recently at one of my Joss Tour events, these kids were in the other room playing and being taught by Peter, and I couldn't tear myself away from watching them and not my own Joss event. The little ones were so cool and cute that there was no way I could not do this for them!
