June Murphy, wife of Doug, has Passed Away

The hearts at AZB are heavy today. We have just learned that June Murphy, the beloved wife of Doug (Papa) Murphy, has passed away. Doug and June have been among the staunchest supporters of the game of pool that we have ever known and her passing leaves all of us just a bit more lonely in this world. We wish to first pass our very sincere condolences to Doug in his time of great sorrow. Doug, as the long-term operator of Murphy's Brass Rail, has supported the game at every level from leagues to pro tournaments. He is truly one of the 'good guys'. 

We also wish to thank Tommy Kennedy and Johnny Archer for the announcement that they have made of a benefit exhibition that they will be doing together on February 17th, beginning at 7PM. The proceeds from this benefit will go to help Doug defray the considerable burial expenses that have been cast upon him. We urge your attendance at this event to show how much the pool world appreciates the life-long efforts of this man and his wife.
