Larry Park wins All American Tour Stop

The forty-third stop of the 50-stop 2008/2009 Pechauer All American Tour (produced by the American CueSports Alliance – ACS) was hosted at Koch Street Bar & Grill in Pekin, IL, on Saturday, April 4.  The $500 added event featured twenty-one players in a double-elimination 8-ball format on 7-foot bar boxes.  Larry Park (Decatur, IL) dominated the action on this day by skipping undefeated to the tourney finals, capped off with a winner's bracket finals triumph over Mickey Meischner (Washington, IL) 5-0.  In the winner's bracket semi-finals earlier, Park whitewashed Justin Scroggs (Marquette Heights, IL) 5-0, while Meischner edged Donnie Thompson (Ottawa, IL) 5-4.  In the loser's bracket Marco Jyawook (Springfield, IL) and Justin Scroggs tied for 5th place at the hands of Donnie Thompson and Anthony Schultz (Pekin, IL) respectively 4-3 and 4-0.  Thompson then eliminated Schultz at 4th place by a 4-2 margin.  In turn, Thompson completed his day at 3rd place via another hill-hill loss to Meischner 3-4.  In the tourney finals, Mickey Meischner made a good showing, but Larry Park was just too strong and took down the first set 5-3 for the title!

By virtue of Larry Park being the highest-finishing ACS member in the event, he qualified for a free 9-Ball singles entry into the 2009 ACS Nationals in Las Vegas – courtesy of the ACS.  The ACS wishes to thank sponsors J. Pechauer Custom Cues, Championship Billiard Fabric, Nick Varner Signature Cases and oZone Billiards for their support in donating “Value-In-Kind” product for this and all stops on the Pechauer All American Tour. Sponsorship opportunities are still available for the 2008/2009 All American Tour by contacting the ACS.
