Lawson wins Viking Amateur Stop

Matt Janis brought his Viking Cue Amateur 9-Ball Tour to B/Mers Billiards in Tallmadge Ohio on Sunday where 44 players took their shot at the $500 in added prize money.

Marty Lawson and Curt England had been playing great pool day so it was only fitting that they meet up for the hot-seat. Lawson won this match 5-1 as the pool gods turned their back on England and he couldn't seem to get anything started during the match.

England's woes continued in his next match as Jim Davis handed him a 5-2 loss to force England to settle for third place.

The finals between Lawson and Davis was played on the triple shimmed table at the request of both finalists, and saw Lawson continuing his dominating play and taked a 5-2 win.

Lawson earned $650 for first place, while Davis settled for $430. England and Mark Cimperman filled out the top four spots. Other finishes of interest saw room owner Brandon Kraus take 7th place and female player Rose Henderson finish in 9th place. Janis also held a break contest this week which saw Steve Fogal tie with Arthur 'Teddy' Brantley. The players had a three round "break off" to determine the winner and Fogal won this. Fogal earned $190 for the win.

The Viking Cue Amateur 9-Ball Tour will be at Mahoning Valley Billiards in Youngstown, OH on December 19th for their next event.
